One flower that is commonly associated with the end of summer is the sunflower. These towering beauties with their bright yellow petals and dark centres are a favourite among many. They are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also have practical uses, such as being a source of oil and birdseed.
Another popular flower at the end of summer is the aster. These daisy-like flowers come in a range of colours, including pink, purple, and white, and are frequently used in fall floral arrangements. Asters are also known for attracting bees and butterflies, adding both beauty and function to your garden.
Mums are another classic end-of-summer flower that can be found in a variety of autumnal hues. They are easy to care for and make a great addition to any garden or porch. Mums are also commonly used in outdoor fall decor, such as wreaths and pumpkin arrangements.
Finally, the marigold is a cheerful flower that can be seen blooming well into autumn. Marigolds are easy to grow and come in shades of orange, yellow, and red. They are often used as a natural pest repellent, making them a practical addition to any garden.
As we have already said goodbye to summer, I find myself looking all the way forward to spring when I can once again surround myself with flower blossoms of many varieties.
